First, how to say it... Leathlobhair is pronounced leath - low - fair. So Why are the Cottages called Leathlobhair? Judith and Paul's surname is Lawlor. From Judith's interest in genealogy we know that this Irish name is derived from the native Gaelic O'Leathlobhair Sept. This Sept was also the name of two early Kings of the Ulidia. The main Sept was located in Leix in what is now the County Offaly and Laoise area. Lalor and Lawler are variants.
Paul is interested in Gilbert and Sullivan and sings with a locally based musical society you can find out more about this all involves at the Rose Hill Musical Society website. By the way, Judith has not yet managed to get documented evidence all the way back to Irish royalty...
